Composer, pianist, organist, and bandleader who has been commissioned to perform by the BBC, venues such as the Pierre Boulez Saal, and festivals including London and Berlin Jazz Festivals. He is known for the Alexander Hawkins Ensemble; the Convergence Quartet, and the Hammond organ-based Decoy. He was named 'Instrumentalist of the Year' in the 2016 Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
Before Fame
He first played classical music on the organ. He attended Radley College in Oxfordshire, England. He studied law and criminology at University of Cambridge.
Trivia
In 2012, he was selected to be part of the London Symphony Orchestra's Soundhub programme. In 2018, he was elected a fellow of the Civitella Ranieri.
