Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor who earned his 10th IBJJF World Championship as a black belt in 2018. He had previously won his fourth Pan American Championship in 2017.
He began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at age 11. He won his first IBJJF World Championship in 2004 as a purple belt.
He won the 2010 IBJJF European Open Championship. His 10 World Championship gold medals set the then-new record in 2018 for most by a single competitor.
He was encouraged to pursue Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by his uncle.
He faced Caio Terra at the 2008 World Championships, where he lost his second career fight.
