Caroline Seger

About

Swedish midfielder known for being club captain for the soccer team Rosengård in the Damallsvenskan league, and for playing on Sweden's national team. She became team captain for the Swedish national team in the year 2009. 

Before Fame

She began developing an interest in soccer when she was three years old when she'd accompany her father as he'd go coach soccer for his hometown club Gantofta. It was also at this club that she began her football career by playing in the club's boys team. At the age of 12, she changed clubs in 1998 to the Rydebäck soccer club, where she often played for the high school team despite being so young. She made her first appearance for the senior Swedish national team in March of 2005, which started her professional soccer career. 

Trivia

She is a members of the LGBTQ+ community and told QX magazine in December of 2013 that she was proud of her girlfriend and of her orientation. She used to play handball in addition to soccer. She was honored as the Damallsvenskan's Rookie of the Year in 2005 and Midfielder of the Year in both 2006 and 2009. 

Family Life

She was born Sara Caroline Seger. She was born in Helsingborg, Sweden. Her father was a soccer coach and she grew up very close to him. She used to be in a relationship with fellow professional soccer player Malin Levenstad.

She began dating fellow soccer player Olivia Schough in the year 2020. She has played along with Magdalena Eriksson on Sweden's national team.
