Johanna Quaas

German gymnast and coach who is best recognized for starring on the German TV show Gottschalk Live. After revamping her career in 2012 she was featured in several press outlets for training at the age of 86. She is also known for having co-authored the book Geratturnen. 

Before Fame

She first started her career in gymnastics in 1934. She studied at the University of Halle-Wittenberg and went on to coach a variety of gymnasts for the 1964 Summer Olympics. She gained attention again in 2012 when she shares several clips to YouTube of her training at the age of 86. 

Trivia

In September of 2012, she entered the Guinness Book of Records as the Oldest Gymnast in the World. She posts life updates for her growing 40,000 followers on her johannaquaas Instagram page. 

Family Life

She married gymnastics coach Gerhard Quaas and together they had three daughters.
