Masaki Matsuura

Drummer, percussionist, and backing vocalist best known for being a co-founding member of the massively popular pop rock band Official HIGE DANdism, commonly abbreviated as Higedan. They have released chart-topping singles with their labels Lastrum, Pony Canyon, and Irori Records including "No Doubt," and "Pretender," as well as albums and EPs such as "Stand by You" and "Traveler."

Before Fame

He began performing when he was in middle school. He later went on to graduate from Shimane University, which he attended along with his co-founding bandmates of HIGE DANdism. They formed their group in 2012 and released their Indies Debut Mini Album, "Love to Peace ha Kimi No Naka" in April of 2015.

Trivia

His band performed the opening songs for the first 2 seasons of the anime program Tokyo Revengers, including "Cry Baby" and "White Noise." They have earned a staggering number of awards throughout their career, a few of which include Artist of the Year from the 2021 Apple Music Awards, 9 Japan Gold Disc Awards, and just as many MTV Japan Video Music Awards.

He was born in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, Japan.
