About

Cricketer and former captain/vice-captain for the Bangladesh national cricket team. He played as a right-handed middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper. He is most famous for the versatility he demonstrated in his batting ability, and became known to fans as "Mr. Dependable." He was named as one of the most consistent performers and the highest individual scorer for Bangladesh in Test cricket. In 2021, he became the only Bangladeshi player to ever win 150 international matches.  

Before Fame

He earned his bachelor's degree in history from the Jahangirnagar University in Savar, Daka before earning his master's degree in 2012. Before moving on to the national team, he played for the Bangladesh Under-19s. 

Trivia

He was chosen for the 2019 Cricket World Cup's Bangladesh squad. During their match against Australia, he became the 3rd Bangladeshi batsman to ever score a century in a World Cup event. He also broke the record for the highest ODI runs during the match. 

Family Life

He is the son of Mahbub Habib and Rahima Khatun. In 2014, he married his wife Jannatul Kifayet Mondi. Together, they have 1 son.
