About

A mountaineer originally from Nepal. He gained recognition for accomplishing the feat of ascending all 14 eight-thousanders (mountain peaks exceeding 8,000 meters or 26,000 feet) in an unprecedented time of six months and six days. He holds numerous other world records in the field of mountaineering. 

Before Fame

Before pursuing a career in mountaineering, he served in the British Army with the Brigade of Gurkhas and later joined the Special Boat Service.

While attending school, Purja honed his skills in kickboxing and became proficient in the sport. His popular nimsdai Instagram has amassed 2.1 million followers.

He is from Nepal but became a British citizen. He is married to Suchi Purja.
