Cinematographer and director known for working on a variety of Telugu Cinema and Bollywood films. He is best known for his work as a director on the film Nuvvu Nenu where he won the Filmfare award for Best Director. 

Before Fame

He began his career in film as a lighting assistant. He then moved on to sound and after mastering both, he began experimenting with cinematography. He first debuted as a cinematographer in the 1992 bilingual film Raat. On his first professional job, he won the Nandi Award for Best Cinematography. 

Trivia

In addition to his own directing and cinematography work, he set up several Chitram movies distribution offices where he was able to distribute a range of films including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and Spider-Man 3. 

Family Life

He was born and raised in Chennai, India.
