Telfar Clemens

About

Liberian-American fashion designer who is best known as the founder of the label Telfar. He has collaborated with the brand UGG, designed the official uniforms for the Liberian team for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and co-hosted his Fall Winter 2019 collection at Irving Plaza in New York City with Jeremy O. Harris. His Instagram account has gained over 1.5 million followers. 

Before Fame

He attended high school at New York's Public School 206, where his teacher made him a monogram that would later become his brand's signature logo. He created his brand while he was studying at Pace University. 

Trivia

In May 2017, he collaborated with musician Solange Knowles to design the outfits for her dancers for "An Ode To," a no-phones-allowed interdisciplinary performance at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. In September 2020, he won at CFDA for American Accessories Designer of the Year award.
