About

Quarterback who won the Jerry Rice Award as the top NCAA FCS player in the U.S. following his redshirt freshman year for the North Dakota State University Bison in 2019-2020. He was also named the Walter Payton Award winner in 2019. He was selected 3rd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. 

Before Fame

As a high school prospect, he was offered scholarships from NCAA FBS Power Five programs to play positions outside of quarterback. He committed to play for North Dakota State in December 2017.

Trivia

He set the then-NCAA record for most passes thrown in a season without an interception as a redshirt freshman for the North Dakota State Bison in 2019-2020. He was also named the 2020 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game's most outstanding player.  He was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2023.

His parents' names are Carlton and Angie. He has a younger brother named Bryce.
