About
Professional competitive sprinter who broke the Asian record for fastest 200 meters in 2019 with a total time of 19.88 seconds. His personal best in the 100 meters made him the 2nd sprinter from his home country of China, after Su Bingtian, to record a time below ten seconds. He has competed at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. At the latter, he became the first ever Chinese runner to qualify for a men's 200 m semi-final at any Summer Olympic Games.
Before Fame
He competed at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, where he won a gold medal in the 200 m event. He also earned medals at the 2012 Asian Junior Athletics Championships and the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics.
Trivia
He became an official brand ambassador for Adidas in the year 2018. He began studying for a master's degree at Zhejiang University in the year 2019.
Family Life
After his victory at the 2017 Tianjin National Games, he announced that he and fellow competitive runner Lu Jiamin were in a relationship. They had been long-time friends and known each other since the year 2007.

He earned a bronze medal in the 4x100 m relay event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where he competed against fellow runners Andre De Grasse from Canada and Filippo Tortu of Italy.
